  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or sugar-free substitute)
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (optional)
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy lifting.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Stir in milk, cocoa powder, and sugar until smooth.
  4. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips until melted and glossy.
  6. Add peanut butter (if using), then stir in vanilla and salt.
  7. Add the oats and mix until fully coated.
  8. Press mixture firmly into the prepared pan using a spoon or spatula.
  9. Chill for 1–2 hours until set, then slice into bars.
