“5-Ingredient Healthy Date Brownies: Guilt-Free Chocolate Bliss”

healthy date brownies

Healthy date brownies made with natural sweeteners and no refined sugar. Fudgy, rich, and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups pitted Medjool dates (about 12–14)
  • 1/2 cup hot water (for soaking)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup creamy almond butter (or peanut butter)
  • 1/2 cup oat flour (or finely blended rolled oats)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup mini dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Add pitted dates to a bowl, pour in hot water, and soak for 10 minutes until soft.
  3. Transfer dates and soaking water to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
  4. Add eggs, cocoa powder, almond butter, oat flour, vanilla, baking powder, and salt. Blend again until thick and fully combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips (if using).
  6. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake 18–22 minutes until the center is just set (don’t overbake for fudgy brownies).
  8. Cool completely, then slice into squares.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter instead of almond butter.
  • Use gluten-free oat flour if needed.
